Where is my data stored?
On your device, and backed up to your own private iCloud — never to our servers. Garage Story has no account and no way to see your records. You can keep multiple named backups and restore any of them on a reinstall or a new phone.
How do maintenance schedules stay current?
Per-vehicle service schedules come from a public community dataset served over the air. Pull the latest from the app any time with a tap — no App Store update required. The app also ships with a full schedule library built in, so it works offline.
How do recall alerts work?
Garage Story checks NHTSA for recalls by make, model, and year. The lookup is anonymous — it is never linked to you or your records.
Can I prove a service history?
Yes. Export any vehicle's complete history as a clean PDF — handy for resale, a warranty claim, or your mechanic.
What's free, and what's Pro?
Tracking a vehicle, logging service/fuel/repairs, photos, reminders, the health score, and iCloud backup are free. Garage Story Pro — a one-time purchase, not a subscription — unlocks unlimited vehicles, recall alerts, cost insights and benchmarks, and PDF service reports.
Does it track me?
No. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no data selling. The only network use is anonymous recall lookups, the one-way schedule-data download, and Apple purchase validation.
