Privacy Policy

Privacy first: Garage Story is designed so that we never see your data. There are no accounts and no servers of ours. Your maintenance records stay on your device and your own private iCloud.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Personal information

We collect no personal information. Garage Story requires no account, email, or identifier of any kind. You can use the app completely anonymously.

1.2 Your vehicle records

Everything you enter — vehicles, service and fuel records, repairs, photos, odometer readings, and notes — is stored locally on your device and, if you enable backup, in your own private iCloud. It is never sent to us.

1.3 Analytics

We collect no analytics or usage data. Garage Story contains no third-party analytics SDKs, tracking, or telemetry — and no advertising.

2. Network use

Receipt scanning runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition. Your receipt photos and the text read from them are never uploaded to us or anyone else.

The app's only network activity is:

• Anonymous recall lookups — make, model, and year are sent to NHTSA to check for recalls; this is never linked to you or your records.
• Common-issue insights — make, model, and year are used to download our public, NHTSA-derived insights dataset. A one-way download; no personal information is sent.
• Maintenance-schedule data — a one-way download of our public schedule dataset. It sends no personal information.
• Purchase validation — handled by Apple's StoreKit, with entitlements managed by RevenueCat (no personal data beyond an anonymous purchase identifier).

3. iCloud backup

If you enable backup, Garage Story stores your data in your own iCloud account under your Apple ID. We have no access to it. Apple's terms and privacy policy govern iCloud storage.

4. Purchases

Garage Story Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, validated on-device using StoreKit. There is no third-party purchase server, and we never see your name, email, or payment details.

5. Children's privacy

Garage Story is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

6. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
